How to Get Rid of Bacne

The debate on how to get rid of bacne is ongoing but we do know certain key points:

  • Only the best quality acne products are worth investing in
  • Good, clean diet with lots of vegetables helps
  • Chocolate does NOT cause acne
  • Squeezing does help for surface acne, makes things worse for nodular acne
  • Benzoyl Peroxide is the ‘go-to’ ingredient of choice (for now)
  • Accutane is no longer available

There’s also a lot of talk (and some evidence) that drinking plenty of water helps.

Benzoyl Peroxide

Still the Best Option?

But is this it?

Acne, especially back acne (bacne) has been a long, on-going curse for literally millions of people for a very long time. I mean it’s pimples for crying out loud, are we really to believe medical science is incapable of fighting back against pimples?

Seriously?

I can tell you one thing that certainly has helped me, a lot, and that’s sunshine. I invariably find that if I sunbathe my back will actually get worse at first, then rapidly the acne starts to go away.

Yeah I know, for most of us sunbathing is not a realistic option for most of the year, if at all, right?

However this does suggest that pimple creams containing vitamin D could be effective, as that’s probably the best-known result of sunbathing, the production of vitamin D.

Where acne antibiotics are concerned things are not too promising at the time of writing, because the more common and obvious antibiotics have been rather over-used, leading to some acne bacteria strains becoming resistant. This is partly because such antibiotics have often been prescribed for suppressing non-acne symptoms.

Multi-Step Acne Treatments

One positive development is the rise of multiple step treatments, combining cleansing with direct anti-bacterial effects. This tackle the issue of blocked pores while also tackling the (entirely different) issue of infection and inflamation.

 Individualised Treatments

This is certainly looking hopeful! More and more I’m seeing where doctors (and non-doctors) are treating acne as a specific disease of the individual, rather than just a blanket response of ‘Oh you got acne? Try this..”

Where to Start?

The full rundown on getting rid of bacne is something I’ll be really digging into over the next few months and you’ll see the site growing as I add new pages on different bacne-related topics. My own bacne is vastly improved – but that’s just me and I can’t promise what worked for me will necessrily work for you, right?

I think we can agree though that your first step should be to ensure you’re clean inside, and by that I mean really think about your diet.

I strongly suspect the old cliche about not easy greasy chips or chocolate is misleading. Such things do not seem to cause acne or bacne by themselves, though they could contribute towards a general blockage and sluggish waste removal. Now that can certainly affect acne!

Before spending money on acne treatments, check yourself. Are you eating well? Fresh fruits and veggies, at least fairly regularly?

Are you getting enough sleep?

What’s your cleansing routine like? Do you even have one?

Bacne? Fight Back!

Welcome to Fight-Bacne dot come!

I’m dedicating this site to back acne, or “bacne” because I know how horrible it is to be afflicted with this type of acne!

There’s lots of acne products and advice out there and some of it is really good and helpul - and some is complete rubbish.

What REALLY works to get rid of back acne, or anywhere else for that matter? What really causes it? Is it due to greasy food and too many sweets, really?

Are you stuck with it for life, as adult acne? Can acne be cured?

Well the good news is you CAN fight bacne! The bad news is that I don’t know of any way of really, truly, getting rid of acne scares, the pits left behind after you get rid of pimples. Your skin isn’t like a car where you can just slap in some filler and sand it down again; if you have a hole in your skin it is hard to say what could actually fix that.

Important update – I was wrong, you actually can sand down acne scars!!

Realistically though, if you’re anything like me, you really don’t care about the “pockmarks” of cured acne, what you want to get rid of it the red, inflamed, pus-filled acne, right?

You know as kids we think the worst thing is when others are laughing behind our back but as a back acne sufferer for years I can assure you that people being disgusted AT your back is far worse!

Comedians even try to make people laugh, because that’s just folks having fun, really. When people are actually staring at your acne in disgust – or fascination or whatever, it sucks!

You can’t enjoy (or even accept sometimes) invitations to go to the beach or to go swimming or to go anywhere that involves you taking your top off.

Have you noticed in movies they may tease a stereotype, perhaps make fun of someone because they’re fat, or perhaps they’re nerdy with glasses, or even gentle racist teasing because they’re Chinese or something – but no actor could get away with having real back acne.

Back acne or bacne just isn’t a joking matter, is it?

I’m going to do a real good job of this website, investigating everything in-depth, including checking to see if what I think cured my bacne worked, or if perhaps it was something else!

I know it’s embarrassing but I also know it’s NOT your fault. You should know that too.

Together we’re going to look at acne, what it really is, why you get it on your back and shoulders, the best pimple cream etc. In short, how to get rid of bacne, because…

You and me kiddo, we’re going to fight bacne!
